Who You Callin' An Art Fag?

The Mondohomo Art Show is coming up quickly. Submission deadline is Friday May 16th. The show will be at Tilt Coffee House in Castleberry at 274 Walker St. SW 30013. The show will hang on Sunday May 18th and the opening will be on Thursday May 22nd from 7-10 pm and will run through Saturday June 21st.

Please make sure your submissions are professionally presented and ready to hang. For any questions concerning the show or for submissions, please contact Donnie Reider at dray.hellonearth@comcast.net or 404.593.3616. at 5pm. You may submit either digitally or physically (file size around 1mb). Please include all pertinent information such as your name, email, phone#,title, dimensions, medium and price.

To give you a taste, here's just some* of the performers scheduled to appear!

Nicky Click – This Crunks Not Dead producer, beat-maker, video artist, songwriter and performance artist from the Boston area will be returning again this year for MH!

Athens Boys Choir – Straight outta ATH with the hott new video "Fagette" and returning alumnus of MH07, this FTM activist, lyricist, and performance artist is one sexy, nerdy transguy.

Hailing from Miami, LA, and Hollywood, Pretty Thugz are a hot sizzlin’ quadro of transgender rappers with videos airing on LOGO TV.

BadKat – Also arriving from Athens, GA, BadKat has been a self-produced rap artist since the late 90s back in North Carolina.

KIN – Mt. Vernon, NY's finest hip hop duo and alumni of MH07, KIN recently dropped their single "Goodfoot" featuring Pharrell which is already heating up dancefloors across the nation. Bring your smelling salts cause KIN makes you cry and faint like you’re a pre-teen with pigtails!

Las Krudas – This internationally-known lesbian feminist hip hop trio from CUBA! has been performing together since 1999. These revolutionary latinas have just recently relocated to Austin, Texas, which helped make our invitation to MH less dream, more reality!
DJ Vicki Powell Fresh from the NYC dance circuit, Vicki hosts Flux, a monthly dance party at Shaun's bistro in ATL’s Inman Park, and spins deep house/electro/hip hop.

MC: Ms. Coyote is one of the producing team of Idapalooza, the fabulous country cousin of MH often referred to as middle Tennessee’s “fruit jam in the holler.” Idapalooza happens just two weeks after us (June 4-11) and is guaranteed to spark the queer festival circuit once again!!

Diana Cage Hot & hilarious queer femme out of the NYC and host of her own week-night radio show on Sirius’s Q109. Author of a slew of queer sex books, the lovely, cursin’ Ms. Cage is comin’ to party with us all and spread her queer whit n’ wisdom any way we can get it!

Fly Girls Aerialists – Justica and Parys Flytrap are the dynamic duo out of St. Louis performing their own mind-bending acrobatic "acroyoga" that is sure to get MH all balanced and centered!

Anaturale – Ashevegas' Anaturale bumps queer-positive hip hop delivered on the gritty Anticon tip.

Jeremy Gloff – Yo Majesty's favorite fag and Tampa's own electro dance party, JG's ready to party like it's 1987! This star of last year's electroclash night is retro whiplash for the queer soul!
The Bangers – Newly formed local rockin' surf/soul quartette with artist Jenny Castillo

Shitty Candy and the Circus Peanuts- Their evil Athens, GA clowning punk noise is a cross between L7 and the Kids In The Hall.

Atlanta Sedition Orchestra  – Radical marching band 20 strong with heavy bass and drum focus pied pipers you and your friends into the throes of politico ecstasy! Wait til you hear ‘em play “We Shall Overcome”!

MC/DJ: Gina Bling – One half of the Team Gina posse from Seattle, WA is a rhyming mixtress and DIY diva who’s been on MondoHomo’s Team since before we were born! BFF!
Making Friendz – Duo includes Tami Hart of early riot-grrl & North Carolina fame who now resides in Brooklyn. They will work that electropunk til you’re dancin’ on the ceiling!

The Dead Betties The Betties? Hardcore punk trio of NYC fellas. The music? Imagine a DIY soundtrack for the film Party Monster.

Pariah Piranha Hard rockin' Queercore Recording artists from York, PA with a name that’s fun to spell!
8 Inch Betsy – This punky queer Chicago band’s myspace promise: "YO ATL! WE'RE A COMIN' TO ROCK YER PANTS!!!"
BIGG NUGG – Founder of the Unity Tour and nationwide supplier of Big Bad Bear HomoHop, this smugglin’ man was last year’s favorite snuggle NUGG.

Unecc – Columbus, Ohio/Unity Tour philosophizer who commands "Gay is the new reason why...Get into it!!!” and asks "If there were no Haters we would have no Creators...Which side r U?"

DaLyrical Atlanta-based lyricist-creator of "Proud: the Anthem," the MH07 festival hit: “Say haaaay if your proud to be gay!!!”

DJ Kit – Co-producer of Philadelphia's 3-years-running monthly dance party FUSE, eclectic spinnings on the one and the two guaranteed to rock that cat off your head!

DJ Chuck Jones – 1/2 of the DJ troupe Haute & Couture, this Atlanta based DJ kept everyone groovin at the Hip hop/Electro clash night last year at the Drunken Unicorn!!

Medea –  Get ready for high camp drag theatre with the best of ATL’s premiere playwrights and directors. Actors will look good but may not necessarily remember their lines, so get ready to yell drunken slurs at all involved!

Gay Games –  Sports where competition and athleticism are of no material value, instead sport fashion, trash talk, and team cheers will take the trophy—we’re talking shirts AND skins when it comes to fag football, queer kickball, and smear the uh uh uh QUEER

Mondo Day Camp workshops – Get your discussion on at these inspiring workshops brought to you by such revolutionaries as Critical Resistance (FL anti-prison resisters), Project South, and other radical political folks; will also feature all-camp stencil share and open-boxx sporting equipment.

Ché Johnson – local Atlanta poet and activist

Tim'm West  – Originator of the term "HomoHop" and member of seminal homohop group Deep Dickollective hailing from Oakland, California, Tim’m is a poet, musician, author of Flirting (book signing @ Outwrite Books May 6th), and general history-maker who will be performing throughout the festival!!
Why are we building such a big ship? – Ten piece brass band with accordian, saw, tin drum and fiddle hailing from New Orleans, Walt's vocal stylings will leave you haunted and building ships of one size or another.

Pink Eye Film Festival – MH producer Kiki Carr's love child. This occasional film screening highlights indie and obscure cinamatic treasures of the queer experience!

Ben Lerman – NYC's ukele Gay God layers witty political humor with campy performance.

Hurray for the Riff Raff – The WAWBSBS side project gains wings on Alynda’s airy voice. It’s slow southern Sunday afternoon music you'd expect to hear on NOLA's WWOZ radio station but will hear as part of MH’s own riff raff crowd in Dickensian garb.

Vagina Jenkins – Atlanta superstar, MH co-organizer, and a star performer of the Moxie Cabaret queer cabaret of caliber who is such high-seductress you better have a fistful of dollars ready to hand over.

DJ Hawg-Tied – The wind beneath MondoHomo's wings, DJ Hawg-Tied of Mary’s LOG JAM gay make-out parties and Highland Inn Ballroom’s  “Kuntry Kitchen” will jock your rock and tie your panties in pretty little bows with the sweetest jams of the southern south.

Noah Redd of Bois to Men – Tranny-extraordinare seen @ ATL’s Blake’s, Amsterdam’s, MSR and more—will make you sweat!

Darlinda Just Darlinda –NYC celebutante feminist neo-burlesque maven comin’ to swish us at the Bluebird!

Heywood Wakefield of Truth Serum Productions- Styling host of Boston's TranniWreck drag/high femme show back again to hold your hand through your MH meltdown!

Miss Mary Wanna – This sexy lady from Chapel Hill infuses traditional burlesque with her love for disco, hip hop, glam rock and more to create a style all her MondoOwno
